Tracy Douglas, she is a native New Yorker and professional artist skilled in painting, batik, tie-dyeing, soft sculpture, dance and theatre.
She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts *Vermont College *Union Institute & University. Her artwork reflects a Caribbean influence resulting from living in Dominica, West Indies for several years and now Guyana, South America.
She uses her knowledge as a Reiki Master, Soft Touch Massage Therapist and Lifelong Spiritual Seeker to assist people from all walks of life in shifting perspective via the creative process.
In the winter of 2003 Tracy was an apprentice to artist Bill Nelson at the Pocosin Arts Cabin Fever Retreat in Creating Sculptural Characters with polymer clay and received a full scholarship to study Shibori Dyeing technique with Ana Lisa Hedstrom at the Penland School of Craft in Penland, North Carolina.
Tracy is also a Kennedy Center trained Teaching Artist and has been an innovator and visionary during her tenure with The Blumenthal Performing Arts Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Director - Tracy  now lives in Guyana, South America.

Greetings Susun,
 
I have just arrived home from your workshop at Rowe. I can't believe the inspiration and excitement I feel right now. There were a few things that I wanted to say to you in the real world rather than the impersonal world of email but I did not understand what I was feeling until after lunch on Sunday. After lunch I could see that you were leaving to return home and there were many others with things to say to you, so I decided to let it brew a little longer. I know you are very busy and do not expect you to respond but I want to put my thoughts and appreciation out there.
 
I feel secure in your presence and safe and at the same time I am intimidated by you and you make me a little uncomfortable. Some of this has to do with the very new knowledge that I have gained from you and some of it is my own fear of confrontation and open communication. On Saturday, I was a bothered by this and my mixed feelings about the workshop. I was excited to be getting so much information but felt fear and confusion about my discomfort.

And then......I began having some new insights about myself. Incredible connections were made between things that happened a long time ago and my current reactions to people and their attitudes towards me. I am in no means in a place of full understanding nor do I ever expect to be. However, I am on the path.

This weekend was a huge help in keeping me on that I path and I am very grateful to you for your assistance. Sometimes a little discomfort goes a long way. I have a long road and a lot of work, but I am happy to be where I am even though I cannot yet see around the bend in the staircase.

Lynda Fishman's Bio:
In 1970, when she was thirteen years old, Lynda’s life came to a disastrous halt when her mother and two younger sisters were killed in an Air Canada plane crash.

As a young teen, Lynda made a conscious decision to become happy and to lead a fulfilled life. Lynda chose to live. She was committed to learning, growing and making a difference. Determined to find meaning and purpose in her life, she managed to muster up the courage and strength to dream big, to be idealistic, to strive for more, and to live a meaningful life where she could make a difference in the lives of others.

Lynda Fishman is a trained clinical social worker who has spent over twenty years as a camp director. In the early 90s, Lynda was one of the first camp directors in the Toronto area to incorporate children with special needs into mainstream camp life. Lynda has devoted a lifetime to organized camping and is passionate about the positive role of camping in a person’s life. She is the owner and director of Adventure Valley Day Camp.

Lynda is a motivational and inspirational speaker and facilitator. She has published articles and training manuals on leadership, teamwork, bullying, trust, childhood health and wellness, communication and customer service.

Lynda’s husband, Barry Fishman, has his own amazing story to share, having been orphaned at age 17 and left alone to care for his brother with special needs. Lynda and Barry met as teenagers and have been together since then. They have three grown children, and the whole family is heavily involved in supporting children dealing with tragedy, cancer or other life-threatening diseases, fund-raising and charity events.

Barry has spent his entire career working in the health care and pharmaceutical industry. He is President and CEO of the Canadian operations for the world’s largest generic pharmaceutical company, Teva Pharmaceuticals. Barry serves on the Board of Directors of the Childhood Cancer Foundation.

Lynda is a woman of action. She has incredible enthusiasm for life. She is persistent, focused and faithful to her dreams and goals. She is willing to work for everything with patience, optimism and determination. She finds ways to be grateful and positive. Lynda goes out there and does what she has to do with a CAN DO attitude of gratitude, positivity, compassion, and honesty.
