I am 40 years old and self-diagnosed with Vulvar Lichen Sclerosis. A friend who had it was told by her specialist Dr. to stop using dryer sheets for her underwear--other than that no treatment!! It took a while, but she is asymptomatic now. I stopped using dryer sheets for undies about 3 weeks ago and already it is going away!! How many women are suffering from not knowing this? It makes me want to call every gyno in the phone book to tell them about it. I have found nothing online about this remedy. Other than this problem I have no significant health issues, I am blessed. Hope this helps someone! Amy
Thanks for posting this. I agree that dryer sheets are just plain nasty. I haven't used them since I first moved out of the house!
I have Lichen Sclerosis as well, however I do not have it on the vulva, I have it on my body.
I'm glad to hear you are getting better & I'll pass on this info to other ladies as well. My comment is that most of these ladies have already stopped using anything with perfume and still have symptoms. However if they use things with the perfumes & chemicals in them (soaps, laundry detergent, etc) it will often cause a flare up.
On a side note most of these women (me included) can not use Always brand pads. It gives them a big flare up, there is something in them be it chemical or material.
