Tinctures vs Extracts

I've been using "Menopausal Years" for years. It's wonderful-- thank you, Susun!
In the book, tinctures are suggested. At the herb store, all I see are extracts. Are they one and the same, or is there a difference?

Glad to hear how helpful Susun's book has been! Yes, usually tinctures and extracts are the same thing... you want to look for herb steeped in an alcoholic base....
