Hi Susun,
My question is this: I was diagnosed with intersitital cystitis when I was 32. A few years after the birth of 2 children by cesearean section… I am now 52. I felt the pain as burning and hotness in my vagina and urethra and bladder “pressure”(the feeling of having to pee)…Sex could be uncomfortable for me at times…. Through the years it waxed and waned, I controlled the pain on the prescription drug elavil on and off. It was totally manageable and my life was pretty “normal” even with the constant low grade discomfort.
I had my last menstrual period at age 45. I felt really good with my vagina and bladder up until about a year and half ago.(age 50) I had my hormone levels checked and the gyno said my vagina was in atrophy. So they put me on vaginal estriol/estradial cream. Well it seems to help a little but it can also cause me irritation if I use too much. I am sensitive to the additives in some of the preparations so have mine naturally compounded. I use as little as I can to keep it from getting totally out of control. I am unable to have sex as the vaginal opening is extremely sensitive and quite honestly my sex drive is so low that its not worth the pain and effort to even attempt. Even when I masturbate(rarely) the orgasm is such a fizzle that its depressing!!!
I am mostly concerned about the discomfort/hot/burning/irritation around my vagina and vulva more so then the lack of sex drive at this point. Possibly if I could get that under control I might have more desire. Can you help me??? Can you recommend anything that I can take or do to get rid of this inflammation? Any advice would be so much appreciated!
Thank you so much for your time and wisdom...
