Hi Susun,
1st I want to thank you for your wonderful sharing of your knowledge! I have come to healing crisis in my life in so many ways.... I counsel children and youth who have been sexually abused... along with that and other things in my life.... I met my wall with my health and it caused great anxiety... I have your healing wise book and started reading it again..... I so did not want to take medicines.... during this process I intuitively stopped taking all supplements and then came to your book. I started taking oatstraw infusion.... I'm not sure I am putting an ounce in I have been putting 1/3 of a cup in my litre jar and drinking half in the morning, half at night and another litre in the afternoon. I also felt really attracted to nettle. So I drink a litre of nettle in the morning about an hour after my oatstraw infusion. I know you say to keep it simple... yet I am so attracted to both these herbs... and take them apart from each other... is that okay? I am not mixing them during infusion, I infusing them separately. I can tell you this that I was in a really bad state of anxiety and that has come down drastically....
Please let me know what your thoughts are about 2 litres oatstraw and 1 litre nettle infusions daily taken apart from each other..... I have done self testing and my body seems to say it is okay....
All the herbs seem so wonderful and I would like to take others at some time like the comfrey as I have some joint healing I would like to do..... and the red clover too... but, I am trying to keep it simple like you say.
I would love a response and greatly want to thank you for your sharing of knowledge... it feels so right your philosophies on healing and herbs.. I have enjoyed watching your videos and reading articles on your site.
H
Dear H,
you can drink as much of both of these herbs as you want for as long as you like, even for years…consider them both as nourishing foods. You kind note will be printed for Susun.
Much love, Justine
Justine...
I went on the bioidenticals and tryptohan at the same time... and I had anxiety over the roof.... I saw my doctor today and both agreed to go off the hormones for now... go on St. John's wort for depression and anxiety... I told her about vitex.... can I take vitex and st john's wort at the same time... one is for anxiety and derpression the other one for getting my hormones in line... I am still drinking an infusion of nettle and oatstraw everyday... so that would be 4 herbs for a while.... oatstraw for the nerves and nettle for the adreanals... I know susan says keep it simple... I would not do more than these four...
thanks for your love and support.
H.
That should be ok. just listen to your body. And be sure that none of those listed below are in pill form. Both Vitex and St. Johns wort should be taken in tincture form.
Love,
Justine
Justine,,,
It has been 3 months of infusions and I have been off of work and though I feel better... I am not ready to work and as much as I would love a crone's year off so to speak... I am a lone wolf in this world.... I have no one to care for me except me... my family is very medically orientated and push me to go on meds for anxiety and get back to work... they just don't get it....
I know that I am perimenopausal and I just learned my adreanals are fatigued... I am not surprised after miscarrying in September loosing a friend to cancer in November and stress of my job... I did saliva testing and it confirmed this... I have no one to support me daily and the everyday world is so removed from wise woman ways... I have decided to go on bioidentical hormones because I don't have the option of taking a year off... unless there is a miracle it is not financially possible... miracles can happen though ;-) I'm holding out... anyhow, I figure bioindenticals are less harmful than other medical options and I am hoping when I level out that I there will be a time when I will come off of them and I will have a less stressful life.... I am wondering if you know if I can take bioidentical hormones and motherwort too.... in emergency the motherwort
The hormone folks recommend a short go of hydrocortisone for my adrenals... they are not in good shape... for three months at a low dose... I am tentative as this is a steriod... not identical to anything my body uses... but, maybe okay in the short term... another suggestion was adrenal glandular in the short term.
Other things mentioned have been tryptophan to help out with anxiety and sleep until the stress levels go down and my body is more balanced...
Any thoughts? My plan is to just find hormonal balance and create a less stressful life....and then just come back to my nourishing infusions... I wish I knew about them them before this all happened!!!!
Thanks H.
Dear H,
hello…have courage, menopause does not last forever.
If you do decide to go on the hormones, here is an article for you:

You might also consider Vitex instead of the bio-identical hormones, many women find much relief from the use of Vitex over extended periods of time.

Also, don’t expect to feel any way, if you can, embrace the new feelings, and just give them room to be….find a support group, even if online.
Much love,
Justine
