I''ve just been diagnosed as having menopause at the age of 45, Osteoporosis has been found in a screening and a back disease that was diagnosed at the age of 24 called Anklosing Spodilytis (A.S.) which effects my skeletal and internal organs, not to mention kidney stones. Here' s the problem....my diet, I've been googling both Osteoporosis and Kidney Stones and one diets isn't good for the other. Calcium that's needed for the Osteo isn't good for the Kidney stones. The Kidney Stones may have developed because of the A.S. My Rheummy Dr put me on water pills for a month to see if the calcium, he found in a urine test that's being expelled too much, will stay in my system. My results will come back in a week. I'm concerned about the dietary direction i should be taking. The biggest problems I'm having is not being able to google this combo of problems, it's always one issue at a time. What would you suggest?
Confused & frustrated,
K.
P.S. I also have fibroids that my GYN says are shrinking due to the menopause, the only good news I've had.

Are you also drinking nourishing herbal infusions? Oatstraw and Nettles leaf are both excellent for bone health, both natural sources of calcium that will not conflict with your kidney stones problem. http://www.susunweed.com/How_to_make_Infusions.htm

A note for you from Susun:
Regarding the kidney stones, cornsilk tea is your ally right now. Stuff a teapot kinda full of dried cornsilk and then with boiling water. Let it steep for at least fifteen minutes; longer is fine. Drink cornsilk tea freely. It soothes and heals. It is soft and safe and loving. Your kidneys need your love. After two weeks of cornsilk tea, lots and lots and lots, add or switch to dandelion root tincture. About three dropperfuls a day would be good. It is more active and stronger. That is why I want you to soothe and strengthen your kidneys with cornsilk beforehand.
Now about the fibroids
Red Raspberry leaf is excellent for uterine health, and nettles leaf in excellent for general health.
"Brewed as a tea or as an infusion, raspberry is the best known, most widely used, and safest of all uterine tonic herbs. It contains fragrine, an alkaloid which gives tone to the muscles of the pelvic region, including the uterus itself. Most of the benefits ascribed to regular use of Raspberry tea are traced to the nourishing source of vitamins and minerals found in this plant and to the strengthening power of fragrine - an alkaloid which gives tone to the muscles of the pelvic region, including the uterus itself. Of special note are the rich concentration of vitamin C, the presence of vitamin E and the easily assimilated calcium and iron. Raspberry leaves also contain vitamins A and B complex and many minerals, including phosphorous and potassium." Susun Weed
