Dear Susun,
Thank you for providing us women with so many insights by means of your book on the menopausal years. Not only have you provided me with a wealth of information but it made for a fun and light hearted read as well.
I find that oat straw infusion is very beneficial to me. To be honest it is quite the life saver. I have suffered a severe burn out. Ever since I started using oat straw my sleep pattern is back to normal, I am starting to feel more grounded and relaxed and allowing things to unfold as they come.
I really enjoy the ritual of brewing my own medicine and find it a very nice beverage. Over here in the Netherlands, Europe, oat straw infusions are not commonly used, although tincture is readily available. Due to that there is not a lot of information on the effect of prolonged use of oat straw infusion. I have been using it for about 2 months now. I use a quart per day I find that nettle infusion doesn't agree all that much with me in winter I haven't tried red clover as I do not seem to suffer from the symptoms associated with it. Could you tell me whether it is safe to use oat straw long term?
Thank you again.
Warmly,
Mirjam
Hell Mirjam,
So glad to hear how the infusions have been helping. We will be sure to let Susun know... You should find no concerns with the use of oatstraw long term. Any of the regular herbs that Susun discusses as nourishing ones: http://nourishingherbalinfusions.com are ones that she, along with many of us, use on a daily basis and have for years.
blessings,
Kim
