I currently make infusions with purchased, dried nettle, and so far so good. I read lots of information about how to "safely pick nettle", but am having a hard time finding information about "how to prepare it, so it is safe to eat, and doesn't sting me, on the way down!". Can you clarify this for me please?
ps. Do you have any printed books out, for sale? I live all the way in Canada, and although one day I'd like to come visit you for some intensives with my sister, I currently cannot afford to do so.
You're my greatest mentor Susan, thank you for sharing your *very important* knowledge with the world,
Wishing you star light & moon beams,
~ Nicole
Hello Nicole,
Many thanks for writing and glad you have found Susun's teachings useful for you. Infusions are to be made with dried herbs -- use the fresh nettles for your recipes :)
The process of drying and/or cooking with fresh nettle will take care of the stinging hairs... you can steam, saute, slow cook them like other greens...
Susun currently has five books out - Healing Wise, Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year, New Menopausal Years the Wise Woman Way, Breast Cancer? Breast Health! the Wise Woman Way, and Down There: Sexual and Reproductive Health the Wise Woman Way
We ship to Canada, depending on amount of books ordered, shipping starts around $9.00 USD... Just let us know if you need any further assistance.
blessings,
Kim
