My niece is 26 years, she is five month pregnant, I advised her to buy comfrey as Susun advises to take it when you are pregnant. But when I read on the internet, they are saying that, wild comfrey is dangerous on liver which may cause death! My Niece has already got it but I told her not to drink it until I get an advise from you. How can we know the wild comfrey and cultivated one? Please advise.
Another question. I got my oatstraw which I also taking together with red clover, motherwort tincture and nettle tea. How long will it take me to get my sex libido back? I started it on 15/11/2012. Do I have to take it for the whole of my life? Thank you for all your advises. God bless you.
Kind regards
Hello,
You will find all comfrey being sold labeled as officinale, yet the comfrey that is cultivated for use seems to be of the cultivated hybrid, uplandica. Susun believes this to be a case of all simply being labeled as the one rather than differentiating between the two. The comfrey that Susun purchases is also labeled as officinale.
The only absolute way to know is really if you harvest / grow it yourself. So ... it is very much a personal decision. Some avoid comfrey completely due to the controversy, some still use it but not as often as other nourishing herbs. I personally don't drink it as much as the others -- although I do feel that the results of the studies are suspect. Your niece must decide if it feels right for her. She can read some of our articles here:
As for the libido, are you drinking oatstraw infusions yet? This is the main herb for helping with this ....
blessings,
Kim
