I would like to be an herbalist, I would like to know what they do, what they are good for, recommend and sell them. I see you have courses but do any of your courses give me any kind of certification of sorts so that I will know what the heck I am talking about and people will have some assurance that I do? I am a rotten gardener I live in S. Fla so I am not looking to grow and sell but there are some shops near me that I have been going too that I think really could use an herb section and I would love to learn it anyway.
Hopefully you can advise me.
Hi,
My... where to start? Herbalism is a huge umbrella and I would suggest perhaps doing some more exploring so that you can decide exactly what you want to focus on. It's good that you do know that you don't wish to grow your own herbs so that is a start.
I'm not sure how familiar you are with the Wise Woman Tradition but I will give you some links to help explain a bit of what we do and believe. Even within herbalism there are many different ways to approach health and you need to see which one resonates with you. You do receive a certificate of completion after a course, but much depends on what you put into it. Would you be ready to start making a living from one course, personally I would say no, and I would also suggest looking into what you would need from your state to start any herbal business.
Absolutely I would recommend Susun's courses to start you on your path as she teaches one how to develop a deep relationship with the plants and with one's own body and I feel that is imperative to really being able to help others and ourselves to optimal health. Just let us know if you need anything else.
blessings,
Kim
