Susun,
In reading your July Oracle article of 'Six Steps of Healing", I was a bit surprised that you added colonics as a Break and Enter last step for healing.
Most folklore healers would disagree,. Most say that your best defense against illness starts with a clean colon. The colon being considered the most massive elimination organ.
Many allopathic doctors of course disagree with that premise. But most holistic healers do believe that sweat lodges, dry brushing, deep breathing and yes. emptying the colon as the beginning step of recovered health.
Please enlighten me to your thoughts on this.
Hello,
Despite what many other healers/herbalists suggest, Susun is most emphatically against colonics. Colonics fall squarely into the heroic tradition of healing with its emphasis on cleaning, purifying and purging.
The Wise Woman Tradition believes that this is not a loving way to approach health or our bodies. Susun doesn't feel that our bodies are "dirty". Instead of trying to take away, better to nourish ourselves with healthy organic foods and herbal infusions. I am including a couple of links with Susun's responses to the idea of colonics. Just let us know if you need any further assistance.
