I am having galll bladder problems any suggestions? Trying to avoid surgery.
Hello,
I can certainly understand trying to avoid surgery and it seems that we have a real epidemic with doctors eager to cut out gall bladders. How is your diet? Avoiding too much sugar, processed foods; eating smaller meals - making sure that your fats come from healthy sources such as avocado is a good place to start.
Gall bladder works together with your liver, so supporting your liver is important. First things I would reach for would be burdock root, dandelion root and milk thistle tinctures; also adding bitter greens to your diet if you haven't already. This all helps with bile production and digestion of fat.
To ease pain, Susun recommends in her book, Healing Wise, using chickweed poultices and since chickweed is a great fat dissolver, I would be eating fresh if available and perhaps trying the tincture as well. Wild yam tincture and turmeric are also recommended as working with pain relief.
We also have a course at Wise Woman University, Love Your Liver, which goes into great detail on supporting your liver and gall bladder. The class started on April 2nd, but people are still registering. It is twelve weeks long, so still a lot of time left. This comes with lessons, live classes (which are recorded so you can listen to the first one that's already happened) via web and/or phone and personal mentorship with Thea Summer Deer. Definitely a good opportunity to explore further options.
You can also talk with Susun during her free health hotline on blogtalkradio, Tuesday nights 7:30-9:30 pm EST. Call in with your questions 1-646-929-2463 or email ahead of time to [email protected]

I would also suggest searching on our forum at www.healingwiseforum.com as certainly gall bladder issues have been discussed on numerous threads as well.
