Hello,
I am wondering if you could help me.I am interested in the effects of stinging nettle on diabetes.I have been reading conflicting information - some websites say that it helps lower blood sugar levels, others say that it increases the blood sugar levels.
Any information you could provide me would be most appreciated.
Many thanks.
Greetings,
Susun has found that nettles can stabilize blood sugar - hence the confusion. Like many other herbs, it all depends on what else is going on in your body. Should work very well for daily use. Just let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi,
No problem. It can get confusing because our herbs, plants, whole foods are so different than conventional medicines. People are used to one pill causes your BP to go down, but you have to take another pill if you have low BP, etc.
Many plants work bidirectionally because they are made up of many constituents, not just one part of the whole, and help to balance the body in which ever way it needs it. So if you have low blood sugar, nettles helps, if you have high blood sugar, nettles helps. Whatever needs to be done to create homeostasis.
blessings,
