Where can I purchase the European comfrey...and a safe comfrey salve?
Lots of articles on this but nowhere to purchase.
Hello,
Almost all herbal suppliers label their comfrey Symphytum officinale. This however, is the name for wild comfrey and since most grown for distribution is the cultivated, symphytum uplandica, Susun feels nearly all dried comfrey sold is mislabeled. We do use the comfrey from online suppliers such as Mountain Rose Herbs, Red Moon Herbs and Frontier Coop without worry.
If you wish to grow your own, Richters is a great online source for many items such as ymphytum uplandica and I usually find it in local nurseries, usually under the name of Russian Comfrey. I know for sure that Red Moon Herbs produces excellent, safe salves and follows the Wise Woman Tradition.
Just let us know if you need any further assistance.
blessings,
Kim
