Hello Wise Women,
I have been trying for a baby for 3.5 years with no success. I got the child bearing years book in hopes to boost my system with herbs. I currently take false unicorn root tincture for cramping after ovulation and
it helps a lot. In the book I feel like there are some contradictions like too much vit C can cause abortion but you should take nettle and raspberry leaf with contain lots of vit C?
I would like to take raspberry leaf, nettle and red clover, but everything I'm reading online says red rasp is dangerous in the luteal phase as it can cause the uterus to contract.
I have not really had any conclusive tests, I guess you could say I'm on the low end of normal on everything.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hello,
Red raspberry is not on Susun's list of herbs to avoid... you must always, of course, be the one to make the final decision. I felt fine drinking red raspberry, red clover and nettles infusions throughout pregnancy... Infusions only. http://nourishingherbalinfusions.com/
Red clover infusions are Susun's favorite herb for promoting fertility.
As for using Vitamin C, yes, high doses are used to try and bring about herbal abortions but as you see in the book, these are taken in a supplement form to reach these levels. Not simply receiving vitamin C thru nettle infusions. Remember the form of herb makes a difference and is not really interchangeable - tinctures, capsules, infusions, teas can all cause different reactions.
blessings,
Kim
