Hi Susun,
I have been familiar with your work through your books and more recently the fertility summit. Thank you for all of your writings. If it is appropriate I have a couple of questions, if not please let me know. I am preparing for IVF-Is it safe to drink raspberry leaf tea in all 3 trimesters? My blood sugar is high in spite of a very healthy diet-can I take a cinnamon supplement or tea in pregnancy? Lastly, ginger, I understand it is to be avoided in pregnancy, is any amount safe?
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Blessings,
Kristen
Hello Kristen,
IVF can be quite the undertaking! Good luck with your journey. Yes, red raspberry can be taken before, during and after pregnancy along with the other nourishing herbal infusions Susun recommends. Because they are nourishing herbs they are considered food and safe for daily consumption. You will want to drink all of the infusions for the optimal nutrition. I did this for three pregnancies and I had healthy natural births and very healthy, thriving babies. You will also want to make sure to eat lots of healthy organic fats with these in the form of full fat plain yogurt, butter, coconut oil, olive oil, cheese and meats.. The infusions and fats will help to stabilize your blood sugar. You can also start taking dandelion or burdock tincture before meals to help with blood sugar stabilizing as well. I would avoid cinnamon supplementation because it is much to stimulating and can cause irritation to the digestive system and immune system.
Ginger tea every now and then is fine to drink, just don't over do it.
