Hello,
I have a copy of your book "wise women herbal for the childbearing year" and for my last pregnancy I followed what was written to take for red raspberry and nettle tonics.
Now needing to take these again but my toddler destroyed the pages I had bookmarked to tell me how much red raspberry leaf and nettle leaves per how much water to steep in and for how long and how often do I take the tonic.
Is there anyway you can write back to me with the instructions??
Thanks so much! I owe most of my quick postpartum recovery to your advice
Christina
Hi Christina,
With both the red raspberry and the nettles, you will be taking one ounce by weight, not volume of the herb per one quart of boiling water. This is the usual ratio for the nourishing herbal infusions -- especially if using the blossom and leaf of the plant. No hard and fast rule about the amount taken. Typically, people will often start with a cup a day to see how they react and work up to one quart a day, if not more...
Let us know if you need anything else and glad to hear about how Susun's book was so helpful!
blessings,
Kim
