Hi Susun,
I wrote to you a while back about what herbs you would suggest for me.
My history is that I am 48 years old, completely dedicated to having another child, naturally. I had my first at 40, got pregnant again at 46 and miscarried six weeks later--the diagnosis was that my lining was too thin.
I'm reading all that I can and I have recently begun a juicing regime every morning. I do yoga three times a week and would follow strictly whatever advice you might give me.
I'm familiar with many herbs recommended for fertility but feel at a loss as to dosage--nettles, raspberry tea. I think when you wrote to me you recommended False Unicorn. So far, I haven't been able to find that
locally. Perhaps you have a recommendation.
I cannot find the email you sent me a while back and was not in a great position to be planning a baby. Now I am and of course, I'm running out of time.
I would be most appreciative if you would re-send the recommendations you sent, and/or send new ones.....
Hello,
First thing Susun recommends is red clover infusions, 1-4 cups a day. And do remember it is the infusions - not a tea, not capsules, not tinctures ... You can also do the infusions, 1/2 red clover, 1/2 red raspberry leaf.
This site helps to explain the infusions and how to make them: http://www.nourishingherbalinfusions.com - once there you can read about each of the herbs, including red clover ... all recommended while TTC ...
Not exactly what your juicing regime entails, but Susun is not a fan of juicing - she drinks infusions daily and makes sure to incorporate plenty of well cooked vegetables, whole grains, dairy, good fats - so she also does not recommend a vegan diet, especially while TTC.
Here is an article of Susun's with a lot of info: http://www.susunweed.com/Article_Fertility_After_Forty.htm and also,http://www.susunweed.com/Article_Fertility_Herbs.htm.
Susun's recommendations for using false unicorn root would be 5-15 drops of the tincture per day. You can also make an infusion of the dried roots, drank in sips throughout the day, up to 1/2 cup daily. There is a lot of information on additional herbs and dosages in Susun's book, Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year, so you may want to check that out. You can also call Susun during her free health hotline. These are currently being held each Tuesday from 7:30pm - 9:30pm ET at 845-246-8081.
blessings,
Kim
