"Ask the Wise Woman"

Last week I went to ER with acute cramping pain in rt abdomen. They told me it was my gallbladder and did an ultrasound to make sure there wasn't inflammation or infection. 5-8 gallsstones showed up. They suggested removing my gall bladder so this wouldn't happen again.
My holistic practitioner friends say why not try a liver/bg cleanse/flush. They are effective, they get rid of stones in gb and liver (stones here do not show up on ultrasound) and dramatically improve health.
My problem is that it is dramatic (epsom salts, olive oil) etc. etc. and I HATE having diarrhea.
Any thoughts on this approach? Any gentler but equally effective cleanses?

Wendy, first my though is that if you gallbladder or liver is having troubles, they do not need purging but perhaps need nourishing. I understand that what was suggested sounds harsh, and I trust this and support you in your search to find other routes. MANY have found great help from tinctures of Burdock root, yellow dock root, milk thistle seed, but mostly Dandelion root. In fact the herb in any edible form. We have talked about this much at the forum, http://www.herbshealing.com/wisewomanforum.htm. You can do a search to read past posts, or join for free and post yourself.
I have also recently read the break down on those floating balls people find in the toilet after such a "cleanse" and it was shown those are not what is showing as stones on the ultrasound, they are formed from the interaction of the cleanse ingredients themselves. If interested I can see if I can find the more detailed description of this.

Shelly, there is a search function at the forum. You can type in "poultice AND boils" to see what you find. I come up with 18 matches :)
