Hello, my name is Theresa.
Some how surfing the net I stumbled into the susun weed site, I truthfully know nothing about herbs beyond I love basil and chive. But all kidding aside for the last 1.5yrs I have had some run ins with anxiety, at one point quite severe. I own a seasonal company that has tremendous stress attached to it, with long periods in the off season I worry about money, not to mention im just outside of boston and the traffic is anxiety causing any way. I would love to try skullcap in some form and would like some info on how I obtain it, preferably not in pill form, as im usually sensitive to all pills. And at times suffer with insomnia , especially with a full moon.
This looks like I may benefit for skullcap. I greatly appreciate any time in advance put forth in some guidance, as stress has been showing signs of negativity I dont need or want.
Thank you for any help.
Certainly skullcap may be a good ally for you. Susun does not recommend herbs in pill form, they, as you have discovered, usually cause more severe side-effects, or are ineffective. Tincture of skullcap would be what I would look for - usually to be found at a local herb/health store. If you don't have a store around you, several online sources we recommend would be Mountain Rose Herbs and Red Moon Herbs. Regular use of oat straw infusions would be a nice place to start - they are very soothing to the nerves and can help with anxiety, while all at the same time supplying you with valuable minerals and overall nourishment. Stinging nettle infusions as well .... These infusions are an important part of supporting our health - you can read more about them, including a section on oat straw and nettles, along with how to make them, etc. at Susun's site here:
Susun has several articles that go into more details - along with skullcap, there are other suggestions such as motherwort and more. I would definitely recommend starting with the infusions which are food-- gentle, able to drink daily -- and then you can try a tincture of the skullcap, or another herb, if something else speaks to you.
