I walked into a heavy piece of furniture with my small toe and crunched something. Nothing is helping the pain and swelling after 1 month. I am fearful that I will get a full body infection!!! I am so thrilled I found this site while looking up shingles for a friend. It was totally helpful. I am hooked.
thanks so much
I would try drinking comfrey leaf infusions -- can also add dried horsetail to the infusion; linden infusions -- more on infusions if you are not familiar with them: http://nourishingherbalinfusions.com/
St. Joan's (John's) Wort tincture can be helpful for nerve damage/pain ... oatstraw infusions as well.
Not sure where you live, but you may be able to find fresh chickweed for making a poultice. In Susun's book Healing Wise: "Chickweed heals all wounds; she has deep mending skills and wisdom. Internal wounds, external wounds, visible wounds, invisible wounds: with chickweed, all are relieved of irritation, cleared of infections, and protected from further damage. In addition, chickweed nourishes rapid and thorough restructuring of damaged tissue by providing bio-available vitamin complexes, most notably A and C, and accessible mineral richness directly to the cell."
Arnica ointment is well known for helping with bruises, contusions, etc, where there is no broken skin - this is usually easily found in a health food store... Also can be taken as a homeopathic remedy.
