My friend is suffering extreme nausea with her second pregnancy as well as her first. She cannot work and if she doesnt start being able to hold some foods down, she will be admitted into the hospital again? Any suggestions? Articles/Books/websites to read.
Thank you for your time
Focusing on good nutrition and use of herbal infusions can be very helpful with pregnancy problems, including nausea. Here is an article from Susun with some suggestions:
Regular use of red raspberry infusions help with nausea and stomach distress: http://nourishingherbalinfusions.com/
Another suggestion from Susun: "In folk medicine, cardamom is used, like cinnamon, as a general remedy for all digestive complaints, especially gas. Unlike cinnamon, it is safe for use during pregnancy and a nice way to calm morning sickness."
Maintain blood sugar levels by eating frequent small meals, eating a protein-rich snack before bed, staying well hydrated, avoiding greasy foods ... You can find more suggestions in Susun's book, Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year.
We also have an active forum with a room dedicated to pregnancy, mothering - you should find numerous suggestions there as well:http://www.healingwiseforum.com/viewforum.php?f=3
