Do you have any suggestions on herbs to take to promote hormonal balance as well as haulting the progression of endometriosis? I have been TTC for about 4 years, had a laparoscopy to remove the endo about 8 months ago and now my most recent issue is low estrogen levels ( but I cycle regularly) Any suggestions on herbs that would be beneficial?

KarenJoy

Laura, hello, have you been monitoring your cycles through Fetrility Awareness Method, to know how your progesterone levels may flow as well? it would trust this more than blood tests that compare you to a standard.

To start, there is some link to endometriosis and a need to nourish our immune systems. You can read some ideas on how to do this here: http://www.susunweed.com/herbal_ezine/November04/healingwise.htm

This is a start at least :)

I have reoccurring chest, ear and nose infections and have today been given 3 herbal tonics to take from a Naturopath. From the list of 15 herbs included I have researched that Goldenseal and licorice should be avoided during pregnancy. I am trying for a baby and my period is due in a week. It is possible I am pregnant. Is it safe to take the tonics?

KarenJoy

This is difficult to answer just based on those two herbs. It would be my guess that if you are pregnant and then discontinue once you know so, then you will be fine, but this is just a guess since we are all unique.

This is largely why I prefer simples - an herb at a time - and knowing how much and in what form of each herb. I do not use Goldenseal. If you have recurrent infections I would be working on nourishing and strengthening your immune system, which would use herbs that could only enhance and certainly not harm a child. You can read some from Susun Weed here: http://www.susunweed.com/Article_Strengthen_Your_Immune_System.htm

love to you,

KarenJoy

Khrys, what herbs are you taking? How do you expect they will remove the fibroid? Or are you asking if the fibroids will conflict with trying to conceive?

Neeharika

Hi..i am trying to conceive as i donot get these herbs where i stay as my hub is in US for a short trip i am planning to purchase Red Raspberry and nettles to use for the entire 9 months pregnancy period once i get pregnant.

can you plz give me suggestion on what amount of herb(each) is to be purchase if i have to drink them 3 times a day as recommended in the book.
Thank you.
Love.
Neeharika.

KarenJoy

Neeharika, what many of us do is drink a quart each day, alternating between the two each day, approximately. If you do this every day you need about 8 pounds of each herb dried - Red Raspberry leaf and Nettle leaf.

lots of love,
Karen Joy

Hi I recently read that Red Clover Blossom can reverse Tubes which have been clipped (Tubal Ligation) and if taken properly can mend the tubes. Is this true? And if this is corrected how much should I take daily and how long should I take this? Are there any side effects to the Red Clover Blossom.

Kim

Hello Dorothy,

I have not heard of red clover reversing tubal ligation, but there is no doubt that it is a miracle worker when it comes to fertility issues. Infusions of red clover have helped many women and is considered by Susun to be the #1 most useful fertility herb. You can drink a quart of the infusions daily for a number of months (3-18 months). Red clover does have some blood-thinning properties, so overconsumption can lead to issues with that.

Best of luck,
Kim

Hello, I have been trying to conceive for about 6 yrs now. I have a 15 year old son, I had a blighted ovum 3 yrs ago. I have been reading about red clover but where can I get it? I live in Los Angeles. Is there a website or a place I can order it from? If not, is there a substitute that'll work the same? I was taking in the past something call "Damiana" (it has an interesting smell) and "Ovariton" (this one I know is to stimulate the ovaries)... I have also failed 2 IUI's and 3 Clomid cycles. I was told I have blockage on one tube. What do you recommend I take? God Bless You with Your Beautiful Talent!

Love.
Ophelia

Kim

Hello Ophelia,

I would definitely use the red clover. Usually it can be found in health food stores that carry loose bulk herbs. Also available online at numerous places. Two online suppliers we recommend are Mountain Rose Herbs and Red Moon Herbs.

Zinc has been found to enhance sperm quality in a 2007 research done on above one thousand males from China by investigators from the Shanghai Inst. of Planned Parenthood Research. Study finding indicated that males who had adequate zinc in their systems were more likely to have normally occurring sperm levels and sperms appearing and moving in a normal manner. Suggested daily zinc dosage is eleven mg whereas females require eight mg. L-arginine, L-carnitine are amino acids that could enhance motility, general circulation, form, motion and their numbers.
